Emily Day

Emily is a Certified Dog Trainer with the Karen Pryor Academy and is a FEAR FREE shelters graduate. She earned her Certificate of Applied Animal Behavior with University of Washington, and is an Affiliate of the International Association of Animal Behavior Associates. She believes that learning and training is an ongoing process that we build upon every day. 

As a rehabilitation specialist and trainer since 2005, Emily has had opportunity to work with many different types of dogs including the young, old, friendly, fearful, bold, and aggressive.     

In the competitive sport world, Emily has competed in herding, agility and Rally-O and earned Trick Dog Titles for two of her dogs.     

As a parent of two children with ASD, she understands how difficult it can be to find inclusive training programs who welcome the unusual learner. One of the great opportunities that we have available is a program designed for children with or without special needs to interact with and train their dogs.  

Quirky fact ... The 1967 film "Doctor Dolittle" was one of my favorite movies when I was growing up! I wanted more than anything to walk and talk and squawk with the animals!
